Óbidos is a charming medieval village located in the Western region of Portugal, known for its rich history, picturesque architecture and welcoming atmosphere. The town is famous for its ancient walls, which still surround the city, and for its cobbled streets lined with whitewashed houses with blue and yellow details.

Óbidos Castle: Built in the 12th century, it is one of the best preserved medieval castles in Portugal. Nowadays, the castle operates as an inn, but it is possible to visit and admire its structure.

Ginjinha de Óbidos: Óbidos is famous for the production of ginjinha, a traditional liqueur made from sour cherries (a variety of cherry). Visitors can try the liquor served in chocolate cups.

Church of Santa Maria: Located in the main square, this church has a Renaissance facade and houses notable works of art, as well as being an important historical site where D. Afonso V and his cousin, D. Isabel, were married in 1441, when they were both just 10 years.

International Chocolate Festival: Every year, Óbidos hosts this event that attracts visitors from all over the world. During the festival, there are sculptures made of chocolate and various activities related to the theme.

Medieval Market: One of the most popular events in Óbidos is the Medieval Market, held in the summer. During this period, the town transforms, recreating the atmosphere of medieval times with typical costumes, tournaments and banquets.
